AI system that prevents slips, falls at workplaces

A new artificial intelligence (AI) system that prevents slips, trips and falls at workplaces will be rolled out to at least 50 companies this year.

Such accidents caused the most injuries at workplaces for the last five years. Each worker gets a wearable device. When it detects a slip, the supervisor gets a real-time alert, which allows him or her to act on it immediately.

The devices pick out these accidents with GPS technology and an AI system that monitors hand gestures. So far, it's been 97% accurate, even for near-miss accidents or minor slips -- which aren't often reported.
